The Suzuki Ciaz is a subcompact sedan which was introduced globally in 2014. The current Ciaz is based on the 2023 model. The car is equipped with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which produces 103 PS maximum power and 138 Nm peak torque. The motor is paired with a 4-speed automatic. Exterior

  • When it comes to visual appeal, Suzuki has gone the conventional way by giving the Ciaz a safe and conservative design. The Suzuki Ciaz has an elongated and low slung stance which does give it a big car appeal, though.
  • The front fascia of the Suzuki Ciaz looks quite sleek thanks to the wide and slim front grille, which has chrome garnish on its upper and lower boundaries and is extended all the way to the headlamps in a tapered manner.
  • The headlamps now look bold, thanks to an all-white LED illumination with projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs. The front bumpers do look sporty and big, and it is all down due to wide boomerang-shaped chrome inserts around the LED fog lamps.
  • The side profile of the Suzuki Ciaz looks sophisticated with its elongated stance, which is accentuated by long wheelbase, large 16-inch machined alloy wheels, nice chrome garnish on window waistline and an aerodynamically sloping roofline.

  • Engine & Fuel Consumption Key Highlights Under the hood, the new Suzuki Ciaz trades an all-new 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine for the now discontinued 1.4-litre mill. Paired to a 4-speed automatic gearbox as standard, the engine is good enough to produce a maxim power and torque outputs of 105 PS and 138 Nm respectively. The engine feels refined and is very efficient too, however, the driving experience is marred a bit by the lethargic shifts from the 4-speed torque converter.

Interior

  • The overall layout of the dashboard of the Suzuki Ciaz is not designed to wow you much, with its plainness and simplicity giving it an understated appeal. However, all-black finish with a nice silver strip flowing through the dashboard lifts up the sportiness of the cabin a bit.
  • The multifunctional steering wheel shared with the Suzuki Baleno here looks not so appealing, however, the instrument console with a nice 4.2-inch TFT MID in between does uplift the ambience of the driver’s cockpit. The tapered AC vents with chrome bordering look premium, and the centre console looks premium with the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto flanked with triangular silver finish on either sides and a cluster of buttons for automatic climate control below it.
