Slated for release in November 2024, the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is set to redefine hybrid SUVs in the UAE with its blend of power and efficiency. However, the local pricing has yet to be confirmed. For the American market, the 4xe features a robust PHEV powertrain with 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, offering an impressive 470-mile total driving range. Its electric-only range is 25 miles, ideal for daily commutes. The Grand Cherokee 4xe also boasts advanced 4x4 systems, including Quadra-Trac II® and Quadra-Drive® II, along with a water-sealed battery pack for enhanced off-road capability. The SUV comes with three driving modes: Hybrid, Electric, and eSave, catering to various driving needs. Competitors in the UAE include the Land Rover Defender, Lexus NX 450h+, and Volvo XC60 T8.

What's New on Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

Introduction

  • Almost three years after the launch of the regular versions of the Grand Cherokee, Jeep will be introducing the hybrid version of its premium mid-size SUV in the UAE car market, possibly in the first quarter of 2025. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, as this hybrid version of the SUV will be named, will be positioned as the new range-topping variant of the SUV, while also being the most technologically advanced and efficient version.
  • There are no visual differences too, as this plug-in hybrid version also gets the same familiar boxy and upright stance with a squared-off theme for the seven-slat grille with chrome accents and active grille shutter, all-LED headlamps and slim combination LED tail lamps with connected LED light bar. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe also gets the same 21-inch machined alloy wheels with low-profile tyres as the top-spec Summit variant of the regular Grand Cherokee.
  • The cabin of the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has been shared with the regular version of the SUV, though it misses out on the optional third screen on the co-passenger side of the dashboard. However, it retains the 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, head-up display, and 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Other premium features that will be offered in the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe as standard include Palermo Nappa leather upholstery, 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, level-2 ADAS with night vision cameras, wireless charger, four-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with memory and massage functions, heated and ventilated front and rear seats and a digital inside rearview mirror.
  • The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine of the SUV, which produces 270 bhp and 400 Nm, is paired with an electric motor that generates 145 bhp and 245 Nm. This electric motor is positioned between the turbo-petrol engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission and is also paired with a 17.3 kWh battery.
  • This entire 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain claims a maximum power output of 381 bhp and a maximum torque output of 687 Nm. The battery supports plug-in charging and claims an electric-only range of 37 km while supporting up to 7.2kW AC charging and taking 2.5 hours for a full charge. Measuring 4,915 mm long, 2,149 mm wide, and 1,798 mm tall, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has the same size and dimensions as the regular version of the SUV.
  • Besides this high-tech plug-in hybrid powertrain, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe also gets the Jeep’s iconic Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive system, which gives it great off-road driving capabilities. The mechanical setup of this SUV also has Jeep’s Selec-Terrain modes, air suspension with semi-active damping, electronic limited-slip rear differential, and axle differentials with front disconnect function for even better driving behaviour.
  • The new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is expected to be launched in the UAE with four colour options, which include three dual-tone colours like Bright White, Silver Zynith and Baltic Grey with black roof and a single-tone Diamond Black colour.
