What's New on Audi A5 Sedan?

Introduction

  • Set to replace the A4 sedan, the new Audi A5 follows the German brand’s new naming convention, according to which the even-numbered cars are reserved for electric powertrains, and odd-numbered cars will be exclusively available with internal combustion engines. Like before, the Audi A5 will be offered as a four-door sedan with the essence of a coupe in its exterior styling.
  • On the outside, the Audi A5 wears a fresher design language, comprising a wider front grille with smoother edges and larger-sized honeycomb inserts, with this entire fascia finished in dark chrome. The front profile also has sleeker and slightly curvaceous Matrix LED headlamps, large and angular air dams with satin silver accents, and a gloss black rear diffuser with all-new sleek LED combination tail lamps and connected LED light bar at the rear.
  • Following the tradition, the new A5 will also have innovative signature welcoming and departing lighting patterns for the exterior lights. The new A5 measures 4,829 mm long, making it 67 mm longer than the previous-generation A5. Like its outgoing version, the A5 has a hatch-like opening at the rear, with both windscreen and boot opening and closing together.
  • The cabin of the new Audi A5 is also all-new, with the layout now comprising a curved panoramic display for the MMI interface over the dashboard. This display unit accommodates an 11.9-inch full-TFT instrument console, a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an optional 10.9-inch screen on the co-passenger side of the dashboard. The customers might also get the optional configurable head-up display, which also shows information on active assistance systems and media.
  • Audi is upping the ante in technology with the new A5, as the new luxury sedan will come with an onboard Audi assistant, which will work in sync with ChatGPT and Microsoft Azure Open AI Service for in-car connectivity features and systems. Expect more tech on board, with the Audi A5 confirmed to get a host of driver assistance systems, many of which were not present in the previous-generation model. Also new to the cabin of the new A5 are the dual flat-edged multi-functional steering wheel and revised lower centre console with additional controls.
  • The primary choice of powertrain for the new Audi A5 in the UAE car market will be the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces a maximum power output of 204 PS with a Quattro all-wheel drive system. While the European markets also get the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, Audi might skip this engine for the UAE car market.
  • Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, this new turbo-petrol engine will also feature 48V mild-hybrid technology, which will contribute an additional 24 PS and feature an idle start-stop system and torque assist. This powertrain system will also get the new integrated and blending-capable brake control system for a better regenerative braking system for the mild-hybrid tech.
  • Audi has ensured that the new A5 will have a more dynamic driving experience, with the sedan getting stiffer mounts for steering and suspension. The new A5 will get standard, sports, and S sports configurations for the suspension system for a richer driving feel.
